Why a calender?

Yes, a needled punched felt could be easily produced without a calender.. but after people spend a lot of energy (and money!!) to find the way to improve the quality of the felt and to reduce the shipping cost, working on and optimizing  the fibres preparation, carding, cross lapping , needling and wind up operation.  This is good but could be not enough.

The latest solution is elsewhere!

Nowadays the technology   for the high tech felt production is to add one hot calibrating calender, just after the needle punching machine.

What does the calender do to your felt?

Makes both surfaces very smooth

Reduce and calibrate the thickness

Make a partial thermal bonding

Increase the mechanical strength

Reduce the “peeling effect”

Reduce the diameter of the final roll by more than 50%!

Improve the hand and the aspect of the final product

New generation of Calander, using the acquired experience, these 3-rolls calender represent the state of art of this technology. With them it is possible, thanks to the various working possibility, to treat any kind of needled felts, from light (60-100 gsm) to heavy (600-800 gsm).

Calandering thickness could be adjusted in a progressive way, in the two working points in order to dose gradually the calendering effect in two steps.

Thanks to the rolls arrangement, it is possible to work with these machine also like a standard 2-rolls calander.

The regulation of calandering thickness is motor driven with display in the control board.

This setting could be easily made even with machine in working a the max pressure.

It is possible to have alarms for all regulated parameters, production history file, remote control via external PC or PLC.

Teleservice kit is installed in order to provide free, real time , assistance to all our machines.
